2012 Sundance Film Festival
Next week we depart for the “Holy land”. Yes, I am talking about the Sundance Film Festival. The excitement is growing as we plan our yearly pilgrimage to Park City, Utah.  We can’t help but wonder, is there going to be any major breakout films?

We will be answering this question and many more. We will be attending films and events and of course, reviewing them all!  So look for our coverage of the 2012  Sundance Film Festival, coming soon…

The Iron Lady

Meryl Streep delivers an Oscar winning performance in her portrayal of the Iron Lady (Margaret Thatcher.) Unfortunately,  The Iron Lady’s accomplishments during her outstanding political career were overshadowed by the films focus on her late life dementia.  If you are a Meryl Streep fan the film is worth seeing.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is the first film in the ‘ three-picture adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s The Millennium Trilogy.  I have not read the books, but after seeing this movie I plan to.  The beginning of the film was a little slow, but be patient because once it gets going you are hooked.  There is a graphic rape scene that might not sit well with you, however the revenge is great.  The acting is superb, I give the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo a giant

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

I have to admit, I was pretty disappointed.  I know sequels typically aren’t as good as the originals, but I was really expecting more out of this one.  Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law were great as always. The story just wasn’t fast paced enough to keep you completely entertained and on the edge of your seat, like the original did.  The slow motion effects were well done, but a bit of a redo.  I would say it would be a good rental.  I give Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows a
