The Switch Trailer
Like all relationships. There is give and take. So, when I chose to see “The Expendables” last week. I knew I was due to see a “Chick flick”. When my better half had the flick pick in her court. I knew it was going to be “The Switch”. “Two tickets for the 7:30 showing. Please.”
The film starts 7 years earlier in New York. Where we find Kassie (Jennifer Aniston) and Wally (Jason Bateman) best of friends. Kassie desires to have a baby by artificial insemination. Wally is trying to convince her not to. Stating great cons. But, never confessing his love for her. The best con. Kassie is going through with it. Despite Wally’s objections. She finds herself a donor who matches all the qualities she desires. And has a insemination party. (Don’t ask, Very bizarre). While party is in full swing. Wally gets hammered and stumbles into the restroom. Where Roland’s (Patrick Wilson) sperm is stored. And of course things go wrong. Wally accidentally dumps the fluid down the drain. So, like any rational drunken male would do. He filled the cup with his own seed. The next morning Wally is unaware of his actions. And months pass and Kassie finds herself pregnant. She decides NY is not a place to raise a child. So, she decides to move back to Minnesota.

Fast forward 7 years now. Kassie decides to move back to New York with her son Sebastian (Thomas Robinson). Kassie introduces Sebastian to Wally. And Wally notices some of his quarks in Sebastian. But, still has no idea what he had done 7 years earlier. All the while Kassie is beginning a relationship with Roland. The man who is suppose to be the father. As the time passes. Wally slowly remembers the events of that fateful night. I will leave it there. You figure the rest out. Or go see it.

I must admit. I enjoyed it. I thought both Wally and Sebastian stole the show. If it wasn’t for them. I may not have enjoyed it. It is not an over the top romantic film. Subtle in that department. But, strong on emotions of a father son relationship. Which won me over. So, if your better half chooses this on your date night. Smile and know I give it a

Couples retreat Trailer
“Swingers” no more! No longer that slightly hip and out of touch duo. Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau are now married and tackling the issues of commitment. No! This not a sequel to that fore mentioned classic. It is however a funny look at married life. Brought on by a “power point” presentation. A couple deciding on the possibility of a divorce. Convinces their friends to partake in a couples retreat. A honeymoon with therapy. The movie is laugh out loud funny. But at times a bit slow. However, I still give this film a F-YA! Favreau can’t seem to do wrong now! Perhaps the F will stand for Favreau. This review only. Of Course!

Extract Trailer
From the creator of “Office space” comes this mildly entertaining film. Perhaps I was hoping to relive the feeling I got watching “Office space”. But, Unfortunately it fell a little shy. Mike Judge’s direction was a bit off. However the cast of characters made up for it. Joel(Jason Bateman) owns a small extract producing plant. Frustrated with his marriage and the possibilty of selling his company. Joel finds himself lusting after Cindy(Mila Kunis). A recently hired employee. Cindy’s only intention is to weasel her way into a settlement. A settlement in which Step(Clifton Collins Jr.) is to receive for a less than glamorous accident. With the Introduction of Dean(Ben Affleck) this movie picks up. This burned out, “Kramer-esque” character brings such chaos and humor to this film. That for his performance alone. I recommend checking it out. I will not reveal more of the plot. But, will give it a warm F-YA. Suggest waiting till DVD!
